Joy Collective Homeschoolers is a group of Christian homeschooling families in the Anderson and Pendelton, Indiana area who have come together to use their time, resources, God given gifts and talent in a collective effort to provide educational through hands on experiences and to give children social and play time in a parent-supervised and spiritually nurturing environment. We have joined efforts in providing engaging hands-on learning and stimulating learning opportunities for our children that would be otherwise difficult to accomplish alone.
Our group’s Fall Semester that usually begins the third Thursday in August runs through the third Thursday in May. We will have breaks for Fall, Christmas, and Spring breaks. Families commit to join for the entire school year.
We break up our learning in to 6-week blocks of unit studies. Parents select a subject they would like to teach, and children learn in a open schoolhouse style teaching with multiple courses being taught at one time. Children will have the opportunity to choose their courses every 6 weeks. Courses are taught inside and outside and over subjects like hands on science, art, handy crafts, cooking, nature, life-skills, team sports, entrepreneurship, farming and more.
